Results show that meeting feedstock demand by growing uninsured miscanthus requires a fixed biomass price at $78–$86/metric ton, a revenue share of 32%–36%, or a land-leasing payment about $178/acre. The initial idea was to do a benefit-cost analysis of specialty crop agrivoltaics (AV). After initial analysis, we realized that the crop is compensating solar to make AV profitable. This is where the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) came into the picture. More in the post and in the paper.
